We load brush piles, fallen limbs, yard waste and job site scraps with the grapple and haul them off. If you would rather keep it, we pile the debris where you want it on the land.

An old shed sags a little more each year, and a rotted deck goes soft underfoot. Sooner or later, they turn into an eyesore and a hazard. Blackwell's Land Management is a demolition contractor for small structures around Duncan and across the Upstate. We take down sheds, old barns, carports, decks and fences.
A compact track loader takes the structure down, and the grapple loads the debris for haul off. If brush has grown up around an old barn, land clearing around Duncan can open up the ground first. Call or text (864) 747-5946, and we look at the job and put the quote in writing.
Tell us about the land and what you want done with it. We look at it and put the quote in writing.
Our demolition work covers the small structures that wear out on a property. A storage shed with a caved-in roof comes down the same way as a barn past saving. Carports and rotted decks come down too, along with the steps and porch on a mobile home. Old fence lines come out, posts and wire included.
We do this work for homeowners and landowners, and for builders who need old structures off a lot. An old shed may sit right where a new garage should go. A barn may stand empty on land that has a new use planned.
Once the structure is gone, the spot where it stood is open ground. Land grading can level that spot and slope it so water runs off. After that, the ground is ready for seed or for a new building.
South Carolina's one-call law covers demolition as well as digging. Notice goes to South Carolina 811 three to twelve full working days before the work starts. The day the notice is filed does not count, and neither do weekends or legal holidays.
Utility companies mark only the lines they put in and maintain. South Carolina 811 says private lines go unmarked, such as an electric line to a detached garage. Power run from a house to a shed or barn can be that kind of private line. A contract locator can find private lines before the work starts.
Federal OSHA rules for demolition call for every service line to be shut off or capped outside the building first. On a shed or barn, that can mean a power line or a water line. Take out anything you want to keep before the work day, too.
Greer and Travelers Rest list demolition, the removal of a structure, as work that needs a city permit. Greenville County and the City of Mauldin each have a demolition permit application. The City of Spartanburg says any work on a residential property needs a residential building permit. For Duncan, Lyman and Boiling Springs, we point you to the town or county permit office.
The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) says most building demolitions fall under state and federal asbestos rules. For those, an application goes to SCDES at least 10 working days ahead, even when an inspection finds no asbestos. A private home with four or fewer units is exempt in most cases. A barn or a home once used for business may not qualify, so ask SCDES first.
Old roofing and siding deserve a look on any older building. SCDES lists cement roofing and roofing felt among the places asbestos can turn up. When the maker of a material is unknown, a lab test of a sample is the way to know.

The debris is hauled off or piled, the way you chose. The open ground is then ready for the next step, like grading or a house pad.
